Swedish Massage is a therapy that manipulates soft body tissue including muscles. Pressure is applied to areas of the body using a therapists’ hands, thumbs, fingers, forearms or elbows. Massage works on different levels within the body. It has a combination of benefits and also has a complementary role in treatment and prevention.

Swedish Massage aims to benefit people both physically and psychologically. It can induce relaxation by encouraging deeper breathing, positively impacting on stress related problems. It can improve blood circulation and circulation of the lymphatic system, positively impacting on digestion and muscular conditions. Skin condition may be improved due to increased oxygen circulation and improved release of toxins. All of these improvements contribute to well being

Swedish Massage is a good therapy to relax certain areas of the body, particularly if you are feeling the physical effects of stress in a particular area. This therapy can be done as a full body massage which usually takes around one hour. Alternatively, you may prefer choosing a specific massage, which may include a back and shoulder massage, face massage, leg massage or a foot massage, all very relaxing! These area specific massages usually take around 30 to 40 minutes. These shorter treatments may also be combined with other therapies. All treatments are individually tailored to meet your needs, including treatment time.

Swedish Massage may not be suitable for everyone, however a full consultation is carried out before treatment to ensure suitability. Please allow more time for your first treatment which includes your initial consultation. Please feel free to contact me for further information as Swedish Massage is now available.
